My mum had purchased six bars of vegetable-based soap from a store that specialized in handcrafted items. What a great gift! The soaps were wonderful &#8211; they lathered well, moisturized my skin, and lasted long. After the bars ran out, I went back to the store, only to find that they had stopped selling the soap I wanted. <p>I decided that the only course of action was to make my own soap. And thus began Sherlock Soaps. </p> <div style="clear:both;"></div></p> <p>I initially started by making soap for myself, using only vegetable-based ingredients and quality materials. Word caught on with friends and family about my new hobby, and they were soon requesting for bars as gifts to their friends and family members.</p> <p>I realized that there are people who do want to use soap made out of quality materials. And people do want an alternative to overly scented products. I started my business in 2004, and sold out during Christmas. All soaps are made in small batches, from a rich olive oil base. Our soaps are lightly scented with essential oils, herbs and spices, and are suitable for all skin types. Sherlock Soaps are mild on the skin.</p> <p>We do not add detergents, rendered animal fat, petroleum products, or artificial preservatives to our soaps.</p> <p>Sherlock Soaps is located in Toronto, Canada. Sherlock Soaps has been in business since 2003, and our web store recently opened in 2007 after many requests from customers.
